ABOUT

Indigo Quintet appears at the end of 2018, with the release of his first album "Indigo Session" in the desire to undertake a challenging timbre and musical approach, with bold and unique language.

A project with a northern accent, with roots between Braga, Mirandela, Guimarães and Famalicão, it is based on a singular instrumental formation (Corne Inglês / Oboé / Duduk / EWI / Melodica, Double Bass, Guitar, Cello and Drums) and offers sounds that were not possible before were combined.

Indigo Quintet members are trained in the best schools of the classical environment, play in the best national orchestras and have represented Portugal in world orchestras in many places around the globe. We can hear many worlds distilled in one, music being a universal language and Indigo Quintet brings the experiences and sounds from around the world to the listener to accompany us on the journey without leaving their physical space.

They are also influenced by the city that saw them born and live, in which case their first single “Café de Saco”, as a hymn to the simple daily habit of having a coffee in the emblematic establishment of the city.

 

Indigo Quintet's first concert was held in May 2019, with a full schedule in 2020 with national and international festivals, highlighting the commission by GNRation, with the proposed challenge of composing original music for short films by French director Jacques Tati.
